CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Multiple roads were blocked off in north Charlotte Thursday morning due to what was believed to be a hazmat, but was actually a false alarm, officials said. VIDEO
A portion of Old Statesville Road at Harris Boulevard and the 600 block of Lakeview Drive were shut down as emergency crews formed a radius near PraxAir Surface Tech.
According to Charlotte Fire Capt. Charlie Horne, a sprinkler went off around a chemical trailer carrying a flammable substance. The hazmat team was called as a precaution.
"It is believed to be a false alarm at this time," Horne said.
No one was injured and no damage was reported.
