29-year-old man shot near his car in Lancaster; search for suspect underway

- A 29-year-old man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries following a shooting incident Wednesday night in Lancaster, police said. 

The incident occurred at 8:33 p.m. at 946 16th Street. Upon arrival, deputies found a man lying in the edge of the street near his vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. 

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Deputies could not provide his current condition at this time. 

Several people in nearby homes were interviewed and search warrants were executed. Investigators remained on the scene until almost dawn. So far, no arrests have been made. 

The sheriff's office said another shooting incident happened in the Pleasant Plains Road area of Kershaw earlier Wednesday evening. They said there's no indication at this time the two shootings are related.
