3 on 3 tourney gives back to community


BTEP hosted their second annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Uptown 

 "It was lit. It was crazy out here," said a group of kids.

FOX 46 Charlotte was among the sponsors of an event shooting to give back to those are under served

"The cause is to bring awareness to the underfunded through sports equipment. There's a lot of schools that can't afford new uniforms," said founder Herbert Brown. 

 The tournament growing from 15 to 30 teams this year not only impressing Herbert, but the community as well.

 "It's good for the kids to be able to come out here and have somewhere to go and to just hang out and not have to worry about being in danger or harms way," one woman said. 

 "We can all hang out as family do some family stuff and do something we all enjoy together. He loves basketball, I love basketball so when you're with your family what better time to spend."

Herbert adds the goals is to have an even bigger urnout next while having an event that is one of a kind.
