Multiple injuries reported after 4-alarm fire at north Charlotte trucking company

- A 4-alarm fire broke out at a north Charlotte trucking company Wednesday morning injuring multiple people, according to emergency responders.

One person was taken to CMC with serious injuries and is now stable. Five others were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Medic.

The call for the fire at Wilson Trucking Corporation at the 7500 block of Statesville Rd.came in around 5:33 a.m. after an explosion occurred in the loading dock.

It took more than 90 firefighters to bring the fire under control in two and a half hours. There were no injuries to any firefighters.

Medic and fire department rehab units assisted with making sure firefighters remained hydrated on scene. CMPD had to close Statesville road due to fire department operations.

The Charlotte Investigation Task Force determined that the fire started inside a trailer and extended into the facility. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Estimated property loss is at $1.5 million.
