5 second rule: Test the pavement for your pet's paws

- If you're wondering if it's too hot on the pavement for your pet's paws, here's a simple trick to remember.

The five-second rule: Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you cannot hold it there for five seconds, it's too hot to walk your dog on the pavement.
