50+ firefighters battle 2-alarm apartment fire in east Charlotte

More than 50 firefighters worked to control a fire at an apartment complex Friday morning in east Charlotte. 

The 2-alarm fire was reported about 11 a.m. at 7254 Rose Terrace Court, just off W.T. Harris Boulevard. According to Charlotte Fire, six apartments were heavily damaged. One person was treated by Medic for non life-threatening injuries. 

Officials say a woman's grandson set bed sheets on fire and she was unable to stop it.

Firefighters managed to control the fire in about 34 minutes.
