CMPD: 14 women report being sexually assaulted by Charlotte Doctor

- CMPD is now investigating allegations from 14 women who say they were sexually assaulted by a local doctor.

Dr. Mario Hernandez turned himself into investigators more than a week ago. He's accused of assaulting a number of female patients in separate incidents at a medical facility of Arrowood Road.

Detectives with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department charged Dr. Mario Hernandez for his involvement in three separate sexual assault incidents on Monday, December 7th. 

On Wednesday, November 25, a 29-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted by Dr. Hernandez during a medical examination at a medical facility in the 800 block of Arrowood Road.

On Monday, November 30, a 32-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted by Dr. Hernandez at the medical facility.

On Friday, December 4, a 27-year-old woman reported that several months prior on May 2015 she was sexually assaulted by Dr. Hernandez during a medical examination.

Detectives launched an investigation when Dr. Hernandez voluntarily turned himself into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. He was served with the warrants and charged with three counts of 2nd degree sexual offense.

Detectives say they are reviewing the new allegations and no additional charges have been filed yet.

This investigation is still ongoing.
