The first babies of 2016 in the Charlotte area

We didn't have to wait too long to begin welcoming the first babies of 2016 in the Charlotte area!

Baby Eric was born just 2 seconds into the new year at Carolinas Healthcare Northeast. Little Eric is 7 pounds, 1 ounce and 20 inches long. He and his parents, Antonia and Rene, pictured in the photo above, are doing well.

Sophia was born 14 seconds into the new year at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville. Little Sophia weighs 9 pounds, 3 ounces and is 19 inches long.

“She was a perfect baby girl, she did skin to skin with mom right after she was born,” said Lauren Hubbard, the delivery nurse. “It was a beautiful delivery and everything went very well.”

Both Sophia's mom, Ashley, and Sophia are resting and doing well.

Baby Gregory was born at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center just 44 seconds into 2016! He weighs 6 pounds and 13 ounces, and is 20 inches long. He is doing well, along with parents Shina and Gregory.
