7-year-old dies at hospital after struck by car in Indian Land

- A 7-year-old has died after passing through a stop sign and hitting a car while riding a bike, according to Lancaster Co. Coroner's Office.

The SC Highway Patrol received a call for help a little after 6 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Laurel Drive at Mercer Street in Indian Land.

Bryson McSweeney was not wearing a helmet, went through a stop sign and hit the car.

He was airlifted to CMC and passed away at the hospital, according to the coroners office.

The driver of the car, Marina Morales, 31, was not injured. No charges have been filed yet.

The coroners office will conduct an autopsy on McSweeney Thursday.

He was a second grader at Harrisburg Elementary School.
