Crash knocks out power to hundreds in Charlotte

- An accident in Charlotte has knocked out power to hundreds of homes. 

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12 on Beech Nut Road, just off of West Blvd. 

Crews on scene say someone wrecked into a power pole. 

Duke Energy has confirmed that just under 1,000 homes have lost power. They do expect to have a majority of it back on by 6:30 p.m. Friday. 

No word on what caused the crash.
