Driver crashes into Bessemer City home at 65 mph, dies on scene

Police are investigating a fatal accident after a driver crashed into the garage of a house in Bessemer City, according to police.

The crash happened early Thursday morning along Costner School Road at Airways Drive. 

According to police, the man went left off the road, across the homeowner's yard, hit a mail box, and thens truck a tree. The impact re-directed his vehicle into the driveway where the truck smashed into the garage at approximately 60-65 mph. 

Police say three of homeowner's vehicles were hit. One vehicle was knocked over on its side. 

The driver of the Toyota truck was pronounced dead on scene. 

Police tell FOX 46 there are no indications that the driver attempted to slow down. There were no skid marks or correction marks in the grass. 

Authorities say they're working to notify next-of-kin and are investigating whether a medical condition caused the crash.
