NASCAR fans are gathering in Mooresville Thursday night to remember the legendary Dale Earnhardt.
Thursday, Feb. 18 marks 15 years since Earnhardt was killed in a violent crash during the Daytona 500.
Every year since the tragic accident, fans of the 7-year NASCAR champion have honored him by attending a candlelight vigil at Dale Earnhardt Inc.
Diehard Dale fans say the number of people who attend continues to dwindle every year.
Thursday night's tribute includes candles and a guest book for fans outside the front door of Dale Earnhardt Inc. It's set to wrap up around 7 p.m.
