Albemarle Police search for 2 men wanted in connection to shooting

- The Albemarle Police Department along with the the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations is searching for two suspects involved in a shooting from earlier this month. 

Around midnight on September 10 Albemarle Police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the S. Fourth St. area. Upon arrival, the officers were told that someone had been shot at 603 S. Fourth St. The victim was put into a vehicle and taken to the hospital. 

The police department's investigation found that John Atlas Crump and Thomas Michael Dunlap are the two suspects in this incident. 

Warrants have been issued for Crump and Dunlap for attempted first degree murder, conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon and intent to kill with serious injury.

Anyone with information on the men's whereabouts is asked to call the Albemarle Police Department at (704) 984-9511. Police say these two men are armed and dangerous, and ask that you do not approach them if you come into contact with them.
