BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (FOX 46 WJZY) - A father and son were driving in the car just north of Charleston when they were stopped by a gruesome sight: an alligator dragging a bloody carcass into a wooded area on the side of the road.
Daniel Martin says he was driving with his 10-year-old son Nathan through Berkeley County where they were camping a when they saw the nearly nine-foot-gator in the road.
The pair were camping at the Short Stay Recreation Area when they left to head over to a shower facility.
Martin says he couldn't tell if the carcass the alligator was dragging was a large fish or a baby deer, but he was certainly shaken by it, as he says he had just passed the area ten minutes earlier in the dark on an electric scooter.
