Attorney General launches investigation into car shop owner after FOX 46 reports

- A FOX 46 investigation into a car repair shop owner led the Attorney General’s Office to launch an investigation.

Charley Price is the owner of Advantage Wholesale Transmission in Salisbury. Customers told FOX 46 he accepted money, but never finished the job.

“To me he's a crook, he's a con artist, he's a pathological liar,” said Price’s former shop manager, Vladimir Corporan.

New tonight, the Attorney General’s Office says they’re investigating Price in light of our reports and consumer complaints that’re piling up against him.

Meanwhile, our cameras captured the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at Price’s business looking to collect money.

“It was always just lie after lie after lie after lie,” customer Keith Neely told FOX 46.

We confronted Price with customers’ and ex-employees’ concerns; we also got lies.

When we inquired about Neely’s car, Price claimed he asked us to follow up in two weeks; not one.

He actually said, “Mr. Neely's car will be fixed by the end of next week.”

Price also denied using customers’ cars for personal use, but then said, “The red dodge truck, I went and test drove it […] to pay the electric bill and go get lunch.”

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office told FOX 46 he doesn’t even have a driver’s license. We’re waiting to hear if authorities are going to pursue charges against Price for driving without a license.
