Belmont man accused of terrorizing neighbors

- Gaston County Police arrested 62-year-old Michael Edward Wilson on Monday afternoon at his Belmont home.

Investigators have charged him eight felony charges related to shooting at cars that passed by his house on South Point Road. 

Police said he illegally discharged a firearm into an occupied vehicles and carried out the assaults in secret. The charges are for cases dating from July 2017 until May 2018. One vehicle he is suspected of striking is a South Point Volunteer Fire Department truck.

Wilson's bond was set at $1 million and he is being held in the Gaston County Jail. 

"Well they must finally got enough evidence to do something because people had be complaining about it for a long time," a neighbor said.
