CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - There's a big change coming for drivers in the I-77 Toll Lane Project. Starting next week, the Department of Transportation is turning over its roadside assistance and maintenance to I-77 Mobility Partners.
You're probably used to seeing yellow NCDOT trucks when someone is having car trouble or to get debris out of the road. Beginning Sunday, you'll see trucks with I-77 Mobility Partners instead. They'll be patrolling the 22 miles from I-277 to Exit 36 in Mooresville.
The transition is part of the contract and was planned from the very beginning.
