Black Lives Matter protesters befriend CMPD officer

- A group of Black Lives Matter protesters took action and got unexpected results -- friendship with a CMPD Captain.

Captain Mike Campagna not only marched with a group of protesters in Uptown on Saturday, keeping them safe along the way, but he posed for a photo with the leaders of the march.

Tony Wright and P.J. Jones, both 18-years old, started the protest after seeing reports of police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.

The two had a face-to-face conversation with the Captain -- and now they all have found common ground and mutual respect.

"This picture that you're painting isn't us, it isn't who we are," Captain Campagna said. "And if we can stop screaming for a moment and we can start talking we can figure that out."

The two teens have also started a new clothing brand to help spread their positive message, check it out here!
