MINT HILL, NC (WJZY) - Carolina Panthers honorary coach Braylon Beam, known for his online dancing videos as he undergoes cancer treatments at Novant Health's Hemby Children's Hospital, will be the Grand Marshal for this year's Mint Hill Madness parade!
Organizers said the youngster will join some of his favorite nurses and other staff from the Novant Health family at the festival where Novant is this year's Title Sponsor.
Braylon's mom, Meredith, is a Novant nurse.
The 33rd annual, family-friendly festival will be held Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29, at Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park, 8850 Fairview Road, in Mint Hill.
For the second year the festival will include a health and wellness area, dubbed “Madness Healthy Living.” The area will include vendors, a fitness competition and the NFL will return with its “Punt, Pass & Kick” contest for kids.
Organizers said the contest will be perfect for Braylon, a huge Panthers fan who quickly became part of the Panthers 2015 family. He even attended the Super Bowl with his favorite team!
Now, his family is focused on helping other pediatric cancer patients and their families through their newly founded Bring It 4 Braylon Foundation, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit. You can find them on Facebook by searching “Bring It 4 Braylon.”
