CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - The older brother of Alexus Fraley, who was found dead after being reported missing, shared part of a heartfelt note written after his sister's death.
"They got to see my sister's last breath and my family wasn't even allowed to see my sister's last breath," Michael Blake, Fraley's brother, said.
Michael spoke only with FOX 46 at the boardwalk in the University area. That's where he and his sister shared one of their last personal moments before her disappearance on April 13.
"I believe I saw her a week before then," Blake said. "I received a call at six in the morning from my father and they said her body has been found. I instantly broke down and started crying," he said.
The mother of two was found two weeks later dead in an abandoned building in southwest Charlotte.
Richard Jordan and Ashley Helms were arrested and charged with her murder and kidnapping. Police said Jordan and Fraley were in a relationship.
"When Alexus went missing I didn't even know who Richard was. I knew nothing about him," Blake said.
Court records show Jordan has a lengthy arrest record, including first-degree murder a decade ago. He took a plea deal for accessory after the fact --- something Blake can hardly come to grips with.
"I want to ask him why...why," Blake said.
With the grieving process underway, Michael badly wants to keep the memory of Alexus alive.
