ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - More than 50 dogs and cats are safe tonight, all rescues from Texas and Louisiana. They’re getting results thanks to the efforts of a North Carolina rescue group.
Volunteers from Asheville-based Brother Wolf Animal Rescue joined several other groups on the ground in the storm zone, evacuating animal shelters just before Hurricane Harvey hit.
They loaded them into kennels and later into transport vans on the long journey to dry ground. Some of the evacuees kittens only weeks old.
The director of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue tells FOX 46 Charlotte they’ve already spent more than $2000 to evacuate the animals.
