Building declared 'total loss' after fire near farmers market

Firefighters remain on scene after a fire destroyed a building near a local farmers market in Chesterfield County on Friday.

According to fire officials, the fire broke out around 12 p.m. Friday, March 4 on Hwy 601. They said someone was burning debris near a building that housed wooden pallets. 

Fire officials said the wind picked up and the wooden pallets inside the building caught fire. A graphic design business was also inside the building.

Crews told FOX46 the building is considered a total loss. 

There was one worker inside the building at the time, but was able to escape. No injuries have been reported.

More than seven agencies responded to the fire.
