Bystander hospitalized after Huntersville house fire

A fire broke out at a Huntersville home under renovation early Monday morning.

One bystander was treated on scene for smoke inhalation and taken to the hospital, according to Huntersville Fire.

The fire occurred at the intersection of Devonshire Drive and Birkdale Commons Parkway around 2:30 a.m.

No one was home at the time of the fire. The fire chief says the second floor collapsed.

The Huntersville Fire PIO says the Mecklenburg County Fire Marshals Office is on scene investigating the cause.
