Cam Newton issues apology for sexist comment

- In a somber video posted to his social media pages Thursday evening, Cam Newton issued an apology for making a sexist remark directed toward a female reporter at a press conference on Wednesday.

In the video, Newton says that his "word choice was extremely degrading and disrespectful to women." He apologized to anyone offended by the comment, saying he tries to be a positive role model in the community.

Newton went on to talk about his own daughters and how he tries to instill in them that they can do or be anything they want to be.

He says he has learned a valuable lesson from this incident and hopes any young people who see this learn a lesson as well. "Don't be like me, be better than me," he says.

The video comes on the heels of Dannon yogurt dropping their deal with Newton.
