Charleston church shooting victim honored, new foundation launched

One of the victims of the Charleston church shooting last summer is being honored in a way that will help others.

Malcom and Melvin are launching the Cynthia Graham Foundation to promote the love in honor of their sister.

Cynthia was a librarian for 30 years when she was killed during bible study at Mother Emanuel Ame Church in Charleston last June shortly before her 55th birthday.

The foundation's first event - a book drive in Charleston and Charlotte throughout June.

"This is about celebrating who Cynthia was in life. This is how we turn our grief into action that benefits the entire community," Malcom Graham said.

The drive is a partnership with the national non-profit, Reading Partners, that helps low-income students learn to read. For more information, CLICK HERE!
