UPDATE: Charlotte man arrested for 82-year-old mother's death

- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced a major development in the 2014 murder case of Ina Feldman. 

Homicide detectives said they've charged Irwin Jay Feldman, 58, with the murder of Ina Feldman.

Police said on Thursday, Feb. 25, Feldman was interviewed by Homicide/ADW detectives in reference to this case.

He was subsequently charged with the murder of Ms. Feldman - who detectives said is his mother.

As we've reported, the 82-year-old woman was discovered dead in her home along the 4900 block of Torrey Pines Court in 2014. 

The initial report stated Ms. Feldman was found by her son around 9:30 a.m. that morning - and 12 hours later her death was declared a homicide. 

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming. 

Feldman appeared in court Friday, Feb. 26 and was given a court-appointed attorney. He's due back in court March 9 for a bond hearing.

Feldman remains in police custody without bond.
