Charlotte men accused of vehicle break-ins at Monroe hotels

- Two Charlotte men have been arrested and charged with breaking into vehicles at Monroe hotels, according to the Monroe Police Department. 

Jornell Bess, 23, and Jeffery Alonzo Taylor, 26, reportedly broke into vehicles between July 21, 2017 and January 18, 2018 at the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn in Monroe.

Bess has been charged with 18 counts of breaking and entering to motor vehicles, 17 counts of injury to personal property, 7 counts of misdemeanor larceny, one count of felony larceny, 17 counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, one count of larceny of a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. 

Taylor has been charged with 28 counts of breaking and entering to motor vehicles, 27 counts of injury to personal property, 11 counts of misdemeanor larceny, two counts of felony larceny, 28 counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, four counts of larceny of a firearm, two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, and four counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.  

Bess is in the Union County Jail under a $150,000 bond. Taylor is in custody in Mecklenburg County on additional federal charges and will be served with the warrants from Monroe now that Bess has been charged, police said.
