Charlotte Motor Speedway to collect paper products for hurricane relief

- Charlotte Motor Speedway is hosting a donation drive this Saturday during the weekend's NHRA Carolina Nationals to collect paper products for victims of Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Michael.

On Saturday, folks are asked to bring paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, etc., to zMAX Dragway and leave them behind their cars in the parking lots.

Speedway staff will collect the donations from the parking lots during the NHRA qualifying sessions Saturday afternoon, according to officials with Charlotte Motor Speedway.

From there, all donations will be distributed to those impacted by recent hurricanes through The Salvation Army. The collect will take place Saturday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those wishing to donate who are not attending the NHRA Carolina Nationals will have a designated drop-off location outside of Gate 2, between the dragway and The Dirt Track.
