CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - Dozens of people gathered in memory of a Charlotte firefighter who lost his life to cancer.
Jeff McGill passed away in April from stomach cancer after serving the Charlotte Fire Department for 16 years.
His friends, family and perfect strangers gathered at the Piedmont Social House Sunday to rasie money for his family - and his outstanding medical bills.
"He was a good guy, a Christian man," Rhonda Ransom, friend, said.
McGill's family has about $10,000 in medical bills. The organization All Things Possible held the event.
