Charlotte ranked one of the least pet-friendly U.S. cities

- Charlotte, known for its sports, rapid growth, and ever-changing weather is not known for its pet friendliness, according to a new study published by WalletHub.

The study compared the 100 largest U.S. cities in a variety of categories, including walkability, pet businesses per-capita, and minimum pet-care provider rate per visit.

With 21 key metrics considered, the Queen City came in 91st place out of the 100 cities. It placed 78th in pet budget, 46th in pet health and wellness, and 97th in outdoor pet-friendiness. 

The nine cities that scored worse than Charlotte were Anchorage, AK, Philadelphia, PA, Buffalo, NY, Santa Ana, CA, Boston, MA, New York, NY, Honolulu, HI, Baltimore, MD ,and Newark NJ. 

The study found that the most pet-friendly cities were Scottsdale and Phoenix, AZ, Tampa, FL, San Diego, CA and Orlando, FL.
