Charlotte Uprising presents Keith Lamont Scott Week

- A group called Charlotte Uprising is remembering Keith Lamont Scott one year after he was fatally shot by a CMPD officer. The organization formed after the shooting in 2016.

One year after Scott’s death, the advocacy group is hosting a series of events this week to talk about their perspective of what happened the night of the deadly shooting, and during the protests that followed.

They are encouraging people to attend the events to have discussions about ways to improve police-community relations.

Here is a list of the events happening this week:

Monday, September 18th, 7 p.m.: Disrupting the Narrative with CLT Uprising. Panel discussion at 234 N. Sharon Amity Road.

Wednesday, September 20th, 8:30 p.m.: Vigil for Keith Lamont Scott & Justin Carr at 9400 Lexington Circle.
