Cherryville man accused of recording girls on Myrtle Beach yacht

- A Cherryville man has been arrested in Myrtle Beach on charges of sexual voyeurism and photography and violating a place of privacy, according to the Horry County Sheriff's Office.

Online records show William Richard Hilliard Jr., 49, was booked into jail early Monday morning.

Fayetteville Observer reports that Hilliard lives on the outskirts of Cherryville and is part of a prominent family that owns a high-tech foam molding business.

Hilliard reportedly invited a group of eight girls to his boat in Myrtle Beach last weekend, including three minors. A mother of one of the girls was there to chaperone.

According to the Fayetteville Observer, Hilliard told the girls to use the shower on his yacht Sunday night. One of the girls reportedly caught recorded video of them on an iPad while on the yacht. One of the girl's mother reportedly said they found dozens of files on the iPad, spanning years.

Investigators reviewed the iPad video and told Hilliard to turn himself in. He did so late Sunday night.

Hilliard is currently being held at the Horry County Jail.
