ROCK HILL, SC (WJZY) - A homeowner wants answers after he says he found several of his chickens scattered on the ground with their heads cut off, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.
On Saturday, June 25, a Rock Hill resident contacted the sheriff's office to report the mutilation.
Officers were called out to the 2200 block of Canberra Drive. When the officer arrived he found the owner of the property, James Rich, who told him at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12:30 a.m. on Sunday someone entered a fenced in area around the back of his residence and cut the heads off of six of his chickens.

The officer said there was not much blood in the caged area and Rich believes the chickens were taken away from the fenced in area, hung from somewhere and their heads cut off and put back into the fenced area.
Rich told the officer three of the chickens were placed back into its coup within the fenced in area and the other three were left laying in the grass in the fenced in area.

The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.
