CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - An arrest has been made in the murder of Massaquoi Kotay, who was shot and killed inside a northeast Charlotte business Thursday, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg police.
Desmond Black has been charged with the murder and armed robbery of Kotay. Black was found and arrested early Friday morning.
Officers believe, Kotay, 45, got into an altercation with Black inside the business, which led to the deadly shooting.
Kotay owned one of the convenience stores in the shopping center, according to fellow business owners in the shopping center.

The shooting happened around 2:12 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 in the 4400 block of North Tryon Street.
Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call. When officers arrived they found Kotay inside a business with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.
The death has been ruled as a homicide, according to police.
Detectives are still searching for additional suspects.
