CMPD recovers newly elected official's stolen car

- "The Jerrell family is very, very thankful for the work CMPD did on our behalf," said County Commissioner Elect for District 4, Mark Jerrell.

Jerrell praising the work of CMPD after his car was stolen and recovered in his Hickory Grove neighborhood.

"It was shock.  When you wake up and the car is missing and you're trying to figure this thing out and we realized it had to be stolen, said Jerrell.

Once Jerrell made the call to police he says two officers in particular, Officer Vang and Officer Rivera were beneficial to tracking and locating his Chevy Traverse about five hours later.

"Apparently they did a little shopping so they were pretty much all over the county than came back here where the car was recovered," said Jerrell. "It was not in good condition, a lot of things missing but the silver lining is no one was hurt."

Both Jerrell and CMPD took their social media pages to acknowledge what happened, praising the officers work.

"I want to commend them because if they didn't do a great job we would be there and say that. So when they do a good work we want to highlight and let our officers know we appreciate them," Jerrell said.  "They have a very difficult job and a lot of bad publicity so when they do a good work I want to be a primary person cheerleading for them.
