CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a man that ran into the back of another car early Saturday got out of his vehicle and fired shots at the car after being followed by it.
Police say Jaylen Anthony Coad, 21, faces multiple charges including two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, after he got out of his vehicle and fired shots at the car that he hit.
According to officers, Coad rear-ended a vehicle around 2:25 am on N. Tryon St. at University Station Blvd. and drove off. The driver of the vehicle started following Coad, and that's when he pulled into the campus of UNC-Charlotte and got out of his vehicle and fired shots toward the vehicle. No one was injured.
Coad got back in his vehicle and tried to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by officers. He was arrested on multiple charges including hit & run, possession of marijuana, and possession of a stolen firearm. His bond was set at $38,000.
The recovered firearm was stolen from Salisbury, NC.
