CMPD investigating after man shot in leg during armed robbery attempt in west Charlotte

- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg in west Charlotte during an armed robbery.

Officers responded to the 3200 block of Rozzelles Ferry Rd. on Thursday around 11:53 p.m. 

When they arrived they found a man shot in the leg.

The victim  was walking on Rozzelles Ferry Rd. near Lakewood Ave. when he was approached by an unknown man man armed with a gun.

The suspect demanded  money from the victim then shot him in the upper thigh. The victim was taken to CMC where he was treated with for the non-life threatening injury.

No one is in custody at this time. This is an on-going active investigation.
