CMPD investigating shooting near popular Uptown bar

- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after an overnight shooting took place near a popular Uptown bar.

The incident happened outside Connolly's on Fifth in Uptown, according to police. 

The victims told police that the suspect discharged a firearm into Connolly's and it caused damage to the building.

No injuries were reported.

Thomas Kerr was arrested and charged with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, four counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, damage to property and discharging a firearm in the city limit.
