On July 7 the DA decided no criminal charges would be filed against Officer Walsh for killing 25-year-old Iaroslav Mosiiuk, saying the officers had reason to believe the rifle was loaded and deadly.

The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. on March 8 in the 1000 block of Justice Ave. According to CMPD, the officers were responding to reports of an armed man who was threatening suicide.

When the officers arrived they saw Mosiiuk carrying a rifle which he refused to put down. Officer Walsh shot Mosiiuk in the upper back after Mosiiuk had been aiming the gun in the direction of Officer Dezenzo.
