CMPD search for man in Family Dollar armed robbery

- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a man who they said is responsible for an armed robbery in the North Tryon Division.

Officers said at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 an unknown man entered the Family Dollar, located at 1437 E. Sugar Creek Road. 

Once inside the store the man approached the clerk, brandished a firearm and demanded money from the business. 

Police said once the man obtained the property he fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel. 

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark skin tone, medium build, approximately 5’8” and had short hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, baggy gray jeans, and black shoes.
