Concord man surprised with tickets to Super Bowl from NFL player

- A Concord man got the surprise of a lifetime when Bradley Pinion, a punter for the San Francisco 49ers, surprised him and his dad with tickets to the Super Bowl.

“It blew my mind,” said recipient Jason Furr, one of Pinion’s childhood friends.

“I just cried. I cried and cried and still even now sometimes I think this is not really real,” said Jason’s mom, Marla Furr.

Pinion got two tickets to the Super Bowl as part of his nomination for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

“I’ve always loved Jason. ‘Jason hugs’ are what we call them. He gives the best hugs,” Pinion said in a video of him presenting the tickets to Jason, which was posted to the San Francisco 49ers Facebook page.

Jason is going with his family to the Super Bowl in Minnesota. Fox 46’s Robin Kanady asked him if he was packing his cold weather clothes. Jason responded, “Definitely.” Then he gave his signature laugh.

Marla said, “I told him (Pinion) there’s no way we could ever thank him for what he’s done.”
