CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46) - Earlier this year, Charlotte Pride organizers declined a request to allow a "Gays For Trump" float to be part of the 2017 parade.
This decision caused roughly a dozen Trump, LGBTQ supporters to protest alongside the annual parade in uptown.
"Charlotte Pride claims to be inclusive but they are excluding us because of our political beliefs," one protestor said.
The Charlotte Pride Festival attracts thousands during the two-day event, with the parade being the highlight of the weekend experience.
Festival organizers told Fox 46 Charlotte that they declined the float because it did not fall in line with the organization's mission and values.
