HUNTERSVILLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - It’s been lights out for two days in a row for homeowners in the Vermillion area of Huntersville.
Another outage in Vermillion due to contractor boring into power lines again. Same area as yesterday for those customers impacted— ElectriCities HVL (@Huntersville_EC) September 19, 2017
“It’s been stressful,” said homeowner, Roy Rosales. “It’s just annoying, you know frustrating losing the power.”
Rosales works from home and had to relocate both days because of the outages.
Town officials told Fox 46 Charlotte the outages that happened Monday and Tuesday are from contract workers installing fiber optic cables.
FOX 46 Charlotte observed contract workers driving in trucks that stated, “authorized contractors for AT&T.”
Some of the streets impacted by the outages include Ivy Close, Banter Lane, Keller Ct, Serenity St, and some adjacent areas.
When FOX 46 Charlotte placed a call to the town’s power company, ElectriCities, a customer service representative said about 500 customers had been impacted by the outages.
Homeowners are hoping the power service won’t be disrupted moving forward.
