CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - Fire crews and animal control managed to save a small dog that had become trapped in a sewer pipe.
Charlotte Fire says a Chihuahua had gotten stuck in the pipe on Saturday in Charlotte.
Charlotte Fire, Animal Control and PNG worked together, even calling in an excavator to reach the poor pup.
Fortunately crews were able to dig deep enough to get to the animal and pulled it to safety.
“We kind of assumed there was an animal down there that they were trying to get. But we didn’t really know how it got down there because the hole was really small they were peeking into. Yeah, we just weren’t sure how the animal even got there,” Harrison Hall said, a neighbor.
“We’re not going to give up until we get him. If we don’t get him, there’s nobody else out there that’s going to. It’s just what it was going to take to do it,” Capt. Brian Barr said with Charlotte Fire.
