HUNTERSVILLE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - The Huntersville Fire Department responded to a reported water main break on Tuesday.
The incident occurred along the 14700 block of Autumn Crest Drive, fire officials said.
Water could be seen shooting high into the air. Fire officials said they were unable to cut off the water and called Charlotte Water to help handle the situation.

Charlotte Water arrived on scene quickly, allowing Huntersville Fire to clear the scene just before 6 a.m. Tuesday. Charlotte Water officials expect a six to eight hour repair. They said the eight-inch water main is shut down.
One home nearby has reported water in their basement. Cliffhaven Lane is also affected.
Crews hope to have the situation under control as quickly as possible.
