CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - Two people were pronounced dead at an apartment in southeast Charlotte, in an apparent murder-suicide, police said.
CMPD said at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, May 3 they were called to the 1800 block of Charleston Place to assist Medic. Upon arrival, they found a man and woman with gunshot wounds inside the apartment building.
Both were pronounced dead on scene. They have been identified as Tiara Clark, 29, and Byron Howington, 31. Their families have been notified of their deaths.
CMPD said they determined Clark and Howington were in a relationship. Evidence gathered at the scene and the security measures in place at the apartment led investigators to believe this to be a murder-suicide.
This is an ongoing, active investigation.
