Man accused of shooting pregnant woman to death in Rock Hill injured 5 others, deputies say

- A man who shot and killed a woman Tuesday morning in Rock Hill injured five other people, officials said.

Authorities were called around 10:45 a.m. to a shooting on Leach Road, near Northwestern High School, where they now say there were five victims. 

According to York County Sheriff's Office, Marques Quantez Heath shot and killed 20-year-old Shanijela Shamichael Williams, shot two other people, and assaulted two others with a hammer. Neighbors said Williams was pregnant.

The other victims were taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators said Heath then went to Farlow Road and shot another woman. She was taken to Piedmont Medical Center and was last listed in critical condition.

Heath was later taken into custody after a short chase on South Boulevard at Old Pineville Road in Charlotte.

Deputies said Heath was known to the victims.
