ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Rowan County deputies say a 19-year-old who was last seen three days ago was found brutally murdered.Police have arrested three people in connection to the crime.
Michael Elijah Earley was last seen around 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. He was reported missing around 9:40 p.m. on May 6 by his girlfriend.
The investigation turned into a homicide after investigators were able to determine the events that took place after he was last seen on Sunday.
Carlos Rosas, Jr., 19, is accused of "attempting to conceal evidence of the death of Michael Earley by knowingly and willfully dismembering and destroying human remains, including removing body parts of Michael Earley."
Rosas has been charged with murder and felony concealment of death, and is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center without bond. His first court appearance is set for 9 a.m. on May 10. Arrest records state Rosas "unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did of malice aforethought kill and murder Michael Earley."
Two other suspects, Lauren Grimes and Maddison Harrington, were charged with accessory after the fact.
This murder investigation remains open and ongoing.
