'Drive like your kids live here' campaign in Charlotte

A campaign against speeding named ‘drive like your kids live here’ is popping up in neighborhoods across the country and in Charlotte.

There are a couple of the 'drive like your kids live here' signs along Sharon Road in the Pharr Acres neighborhood of Myers Park.

Sidney and Suzanne Bernstein put up the signs in their yard.

The couple said there are just too many cars, and they go way too fast around their house.

Sidney Bernstein said, “With school buses picking up children, dropping them off, etcetera, it's essentially a high risk area. And we just want people to be cognizant of the fact that, if their children lived here, would they actually want to drive like that?”

Neighbors said they have a meeting with Charlotte city officials on May 3. They're hoping to get answers then about what else can be done to get drivers to slow down.
