Duran Duran to play in spite of HB2

- They helped define the 80s music scene - and now they're helping those in the fight against House Bill 2.

Duran Duran said they will not cancel Saturday's show in Charlotte, but like other artists will use it as a protest against Governor Pat McCrory's controversial ruling.

The British rock group said they strongly considered canceling the show, but according to a post on their website they said the show must go on.

"Both for the sake of our fans and to support those in North Carolina who feel as strongly as we do about this issue," Duran Duran said.

Ringo Starr and Bruce Springsteen recently canceled shows over it - while Cyndi Lauper and Mumford and Sons decided to play on.

Duran Duran hits the stage Saturday night at the PNC Pavilion.
